Have you ever strolled through a Spanish market? The scents of pata negra, chorizos, and spicy cheeses like queso de Murcia lure you to stop at a table, order a few tapas, and a caña — the Spanish equivalent of a small draft beer. Your plan was to keep moving through the market, but instead you try some pinchos and maybe a bocadillo. And suddenly the whole day is gone.
That’s exactly how the owners of Casa Maca want you to feel after a visit here. The name loosely translates to “the beautiful house,” and there’s a good chance this will become a second home for many city dwellers. Here you’ll find a restaurant with just over 40 seats, along with a well-stocked counter of cheeses, cured meats, and other delicacies from the Iberian Peninsula. Eat and socialize on site or bring home a wonderful spread of tapas. Casa Maca offers both take away and catering.
Down-to-earth yet festive
Although the atmosphere at Casa Maca is thoroughly convivial, this is no ordinary tapas spot. Only the highest quality ingredients are used here, such as cured meats from Montaras, where they’ve butchered and cured everything by hand for generations. Their chorizos, ibérico, lomo, and pancetta are delivered directly from the farm. But perhaps the most exclusive product is the tuna from Ortiz, a world-renowned family company whose fishermen catch the tuna by hand. It’s fully green-listed, which is highly unusual for canned tuna. Here you can enjoy luxurious Spanish food with a clear conscience.
